I'm inviting you to the Sonnet Workshop where together we will foster the emancipation of the word, to create a place where intellectual and visceral matters find expressions and get our stuff out into the open. This workshop aims at renovating the way we learn English by suggesting a concrete model—Shakespeare’s sonnet sequence. As such, the workshop lays emphasis on reading sonnets and practicing sonneteering. For the first purpose, I will guide you through a few sonnets by close reading. For the second one, methodologically the workshop will use creative, participative and interactive methods throughout, like small world cafe or salon discussions, to be able to best use the different backgrounds, experiences and ideas of the participants for our aims to articulate ideas and feelings and to internalize the best part of the English language
